This holiday season, Janesville’s downtown district is serving up a festive way to celebrate Wisconsin’s iconic Old Fashioned cocktail while supporting local businesses and community initiatives. Downtown Janesville Inc. is partnering with local bars and restaurants to host the Downtown Old Fashioned Christmas, a month-long event that aims to raise funds for holiday decorations throughout the downtown area. The celebration will run from December 6 through December 31, 2024.For just $10, visitors can purchase a special punch card at any participating location. Each time you order a unique Old Fashioned at one of the event’s featured bars or restaurants, you'll receive a punch on your card. The more locations you visit, the more chances you have to win exciting prizes, including a grand prize raffle basket valued at over $200.The festive punch card encourages participants to experience a variety of local interpretations of the Old Fashioned cocktail, with each business offering its own spin on this beloved Wisconsin classic. As you taste your way through the downtown area, be sure to vote for your favorite drinks in categories like "Best Theme," "Favorite Overall," and "Most Unique."Once your punch card is complete, simply turn it in to any participating bar or restaurant to be entered into the grand prize drawing. The grand prize includes two VIP tickets to Flannelfest, a local music and food event, along with exclusive Flannelfest swag, local products, and other goodies.
